Arunachal Pradesh budget and economy
Most people in Arunachal Pradesh live by farming, much of it shifting (jhum) cultivation of rice, millet and maize. Horticulture is growing: Ziro kiwis and Arunachal oranges are well known. Forests cover most of the state.
The state has some of India's largest untapped hydropower potential. Government services, construction and a slowly growing tourism sector make up much of the rest of the economy.
