Specialties of Tripura

Queen pineapple

Tripura grows the Queen pineapple, a small, sweet and fragrant variety, on hill slopes across the state. It is sold fresh across India and has been exported.

Bamboo products

Bamboo and cane grow throughout Tripura, and its craftspeople make baskets, furniture, mats, lampshades, agarbatti sticks and desk products from them.

Help for entrepreneurs and local industries

Every district has a District Industries Centre (DIC), run by the state's industries department. It is the first place to go to register a unit, to apply for the state's incentives and subsidies, and for help with central schemes such as PMEGP.
