Adventures in Tripura
Tripura's hills, lakes and forests offer quiet trekking and boating, and some of India's most surprising rock carvings.
Jampui Hills
The Jampui Hills, on the border with Mizoram, are known for orange orchards, views over Bangladesh and Mizoram, and an orange and tourism festival in November.
Unakoti
At Unakoti, huge carvings of Shiva and other gods, cut into the rock face of a forested hill, are reached by walking trails and steps.
Lakes
Boats run across Rudrasagar Lake to Neermahal, the royal water palace, and Dumboor Lake, with its many islands, is the source of the Gomati river.
Wildlife
Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary near Agartala is known for the spectacled monkey and has boating and walking trails.
