Wildlife safaris

Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Satpura and Panna are tiger reserves where jeep safaris are run by the Forest Department; Satpura also allows walking and canoe safaris.

Trekking

Pachmarhi, the state's only hill station, has walks to waterfalls, caves and viewpoints, including Dhupgarh, the highest point in the Satpura range.

Rivers and lakes

At Bhedaghat near Jabalpur, boats run between towering marble cliffs on the Narmada, close to Dhuandhar Falls. River rafting is offered on the Betwa at Orchha. On the backwaters of Indira Sagar, Hanuwantiya hosts a water festival every winter with boating, parasailing and camping.
