Guntur chillies

Guntur is India's best-known chilli district, and its market yard is one of the biggest chilli markets in Asia. The Guntur Sannam chilli, a hot, red, thin-skinned variety grown in Guntur and Prakasam districts, is sold across India for powders and pickles and exported to many countries.

Tirupati laddu

The laddu offered as prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirumala is made in the temple kitchens by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, from gram flour, ghee, sugar, cashew nuts, raisins and cardamom, to a recipe kept for generations.

Help for entrepreneurs and local industries

Every district has a District Industries Centre (DIC), run by the state's industries department. It is the first place to go to register a unit, to apply for the state's incentives and subsidies, and for help with central schemes such as PMEGP.
