Nagaland Adventures
Nagaland's green hills, high valleys and traditional villages are perfect for trekking and camping.
Dzukou Valley
The trek to the Dzukou Valley starts from Viswema or Zakhama near Kohima. The valley is famous for its rolling green hills and, in summer, its Dzukou lilies; trekkers stay in a rest house or camp.
Peaks
Mount Japfu, near Kohima, is a popular day climb, and Mount Saramati, the highest peak in Nagaland at about 3,841 metres, rises on the border with Myanmar in Kiphire district.
Villages
Khonoma, India's first green village, has walking trails, terraced fields and a forest reserve protected by the villagers.
Indian visitors from outside the state need an Inner Line Permit, which can be applied for online.
