Located in the northwestern part of Maharashtra, the Nandurbar district houses the city of Nandurbar. The city is the district headquarters and one of the prominent centers of the area. The majority of the population living in and around Nandurbar belongs to the tribes.

There is no airport in Nandurbar city. However, it is accessible from all major parts of Maharashtra via rail and road. The National Highways and State Highways passing through the city offer direct links to the city. The best time to visit Nandurbar is during the winter months, from November till February.

The religious places of interest in and around Nandurbar include Shri Ganesha Temple at Jaynagar, Prakasha Temple, popularly known as Dakshin Kashi, Hingani village, sites named Shanimandal and Ashwashthama, the Datta Temple located at Sarangkheda and so on.
