Karnataka budget and economy
Bengaluru is India's best-known centre for software, technology start-ups and research, and services make up most of Karnataka's economy. The state also grows most of India's coffee and a large share of its silk, along with sugarcane, rice, ragi and areca nut.
Key figures
| GSDP, 2026-27 (budget projection, current prices) | Rs 33.05 lakh crore (7% more than 2025-26) |
