Warli Painting Based Rangoli

Rangoli designs are drawn at doorsteps and in courtyards for festivals and celebrations, with coloured powder, rice flour, grains or flower petals. In Maharashtra the rangoli is drawn every morning in many homes, and larger ones for Diwali and Gudi Padwa.
This design follows Warli painting, the art of the Warli people of Palghar and Thane districts, whose white figures on earth-coloured walls are a registered Geographical Indication of Maharashtra.
