Srikakulam Srikakulam place was once a place of famous Kalinga dynasty and thus became as a famous Buddhist pilgrimage. Presently, due to its rich historical heritage is considered one of the most tourist preferred destination in Andhra Pradesh. There are several places to visit in this small district. Arasavalli- the Sun God temple, Tekkali, Srikakulam temple, the only temple in India of Lord Vishnu as tortoise, Salihundam , Srimukhalingam, the famous Lord Shiva temple are most prominent in their tourist attraction. Kilangapatanam beach is located here. There are two bird sanctuaries in Teleinupram, and in Telukunchi; Srikurmama is another famous Vishnu temple here. Apart from these places Ravi Balasa, Sangam [confluence of Srikakulam, Vagabati, Swarnammukhi, and Nagvali rivers] are place to visit. In Sangam in occasion of Shivaratri thousands of devotees gather to worship Lord Shiva.Varaha Swamy Temple at Mandasa, Rajam, Pondur, the khadi village, Palasa, Baruva, and Kaviti are the other places deserve mention in the list of special places with extraordinary tourist attraction in Srikakulam district.
